7.4.Bibliographical notes
quickinfo

Although we have already referred to most studies on pre-determiner al and heel and their variants during our discussion, we want to highlight some of the more important ones here: apart from grammars like Paardekooper (1986) and Haeseryn et al. (1997) and the Woordenboek der Nederlandsche Taal, interesting discussions can be found in Verkuyl (1981), De Jong (1991), Coppen (1991), Zwarts (1992), Perridon (1997), Den Dikken (2002) and Hoeksema (2007). Van de Velde (2009) /2014) claims that that pre-determiners constitute an “instable category” and that their use is on the decline; he suggests that the pre-determiners al and heel are on the verge of becoming historical relics.
