Properties of the IPI-construction

Although two types of Imperativus-pro-Infinitivo (IPI)-constructions can be distinguished, the adjunct IPI and the argument IPI, they share many properties as well. Firstly, they feature the same type of infinitival verb, that is, a bare infinitive. Secondly, they feature the same position for the infinitival verb: at the beginning of the infinitival clause. Thirdly, they feature the same complementiser, that is, en and. Fourthly, they cannot be moved. Fifthly, they cannot be moved out of. Sixth, they do not occur with verbs of perception. Seventh, they do not occur with the verb of causation.
