Nominal inflection: -e
quickinfo

Nominal inflection on adjectives in ellipsis is not only sensitive to the gender of the antecedent of the absent noun but also to its semantic properties.

Plural nominal inflection on adjectives in ellipsis is likewise sensitive to syntactic and semantic properties of the antecedent of the absent noun.

Adjectives which do not display attributive agreement cannot display nominal inflection in ellipsis either (see absence).

The referring properties of nominal inflection in noun ellipsis are similar in some respects to the referring properties of pronouns (see coreference).
