There is an idiomatic correlative construction involving the superlative which characteristically occurs in attributive position, as shown below:

they went to the.NG first the.NG best hotel.NG
They went to the first hotel they hit upon

The examples also illustrate that the two articles have the same gender as the noun of which they are attributed. The second superlative, assuming earstfirst to be a superlative as well, could also be found after the noun in older Frisian:
